Everyday we are innundated by alarming information that seems to merge into one conclusion: our world is going forward to its end. We are experiencing the first fruits of what is presented as a long decay, preceding the end. In our eternal-youth-society this is hardly bearable.
Contemporary Vanitas symbolize through objects human being’s struggle with the reality of a finite life. They are conveying a disenchanting vision of our world and reveal a feeling of humility towards the fate of the world.
